Programme Manager -Lets Beat Diabetes and Healthy Lifestyles
 
Let's Beat Diabetes (LBD) is a major Counties Manukau District Health Board initiative, involving a significant funding investment over 5 years to stimulate and mobilise district-wide collaboration with health, community and inter-sectoral partners in order to deliver a societal response to the obesity and diabetes epidemics.  The Programme is just entering its fifth year of operation and a key part of this role will be in assisting to develop the evolution strategy and securing high level support for the Strategy moving forward.
As a result of an internal promotion, this new and exciting opportunity has become available for a Programme Manager. The Programme Manager role is focussed on the effective implementation of Lets Beat Diabetes and supporting the evolution of the Programme.  The role has particular responsibility for operational management and coordination and working closely with partner organisations.   For this senior position, we are looking for a dynamic individual that is committed to making a significant difference in the role and has a passion to succeed.
 
 
Working closely with the Group Manager Healthy Lifestyles, the Programme Manager will be responsible for:
 
·Fostering and maintaining relationships with new and existing LBD and broader Healthy Lifestyles partners/stakeholders
·Proactively influencing policy, strategy and funding for obesity, diabetes prevention and potentially prevention of other chronic disease at national, regional and local levels
·Managing the integration of relevant national/regional programmes into the local LBD framework
·Supporting the review, realignment and funding of health promotion contracts within the newly formed Healthy Lifestyles team
 
Experience and Qualifications:
 
·A Recognised Health or related Tertiary qualification
·A minimum of 5 years experience working in health sector in a similar role
·Experience in complex strategy development and change management processes is required
·Robust experience in project management, governance and administrative processes for large scale, decentralised, multi-stakeholder programmes.
