posted by admin on 16 July 2009
Description
Healthy Kai is a collaborative programme between Auckland Regional Public Health and the PHOs based in Mangere. The aim is to give people buying ready-to-eat food in the Mangere Town Centre advice on healthy choices and to encourage shop keepers in the Town Centre to offer more healthy choices to the shoppers. n 2003, the programme signed up all 11 of the eligible food retailers in Mangere town centre who agreed to display signage depicting ‘healthy kai’ choices in their shops. Retailers received regular site visits and newsletters which included information about healthy cooking practice, menu tips and food safety.
