posted by WM Admin on 1 June 2016
The Health Promotion Agency offers Active Healthy Strong Community Partnerships of up to $5,000 to support community-led initiatives that encourage families and whānau to be active.
They have produced some profiles of community partnerships funded in 2014/15 and 2013/14. These profiles showcase how community groups encouraged local families to be more active.
"Fane Uasi had a dream: to organise an event that would bring the North Shore Tongan community together. But she wanted to do something different and decided sport was the best way as the local churches already have a tradition of competing in sporting events.".
