Abstract

This evaluation of the Fonterra Milk for schools program (a free milk initiative) investigated changes in Auckland primary school children's (7-9 years) milk consumption and anthropometric measures over a 2‐year period. Nine schools ( 511 children) participated and the proportion of children meeting New Zealand guidelines for milk and milk product consumption over 7 days increased significantly from baseline to 2 years' follow‐up. Body mass index scores did not change significantly over the same period.
