Worldwide trends in insufficient physical activity from 2001 to 2016: A pooled analysis of 358 population-based surveys with 1·9 million participants

The authors examined international physical activity trends across 168 countries. The data found that globally, in 2016, more than a quarter of all adults were not getting enough physical activity, and that high–income Western countries had the highest increase of insufficient activity.
