The Built Environment and Active Transport to School (BEATS) Study investigates transport to school habits, the neighbourhood environment and physical activity of high school students living in Dunedin and rural Otago.
This symposium will present the latest BEATS findings:
- Motivations and barriers for adolescents’ walking, cycling, driving and busing to school
- School bags, cycling helmets, and features of the built environment
- Role of parents and school choice
- Challenges and opportunities for active transport in rural areas.
