Whole grains and the heart - Evidence paper

This paper is an umbrella review of research on whole grains and heart health. The author provides the following implications for practice: if eating grains, use whole grains or high-fibre whole grain products instead of refined grains; choose intact whole grains such as whole oats, barley, or cracked wheat whenever possible; on average, aim for at least three serves of whole grains per day for heart health benefits.
