Depressive symptoms and vegetarian diets: Results from the Constances cohort (France)

In this study, the authors examine the links between depressive symptoms and vegetarian diets. The authors found depressive symptoms were associated with pesco-vegetarian and lacto-ovo-vegetarian diets. Further, depression was linked with the exclusion of any food group, suggesting "that the association between vegetarian diets and depression could be only a particular instance of a broader association between depressive symptoms and food exclusion, regardless of food types."
