Abstract

In this systematic review based on observational and clinical studies, the authors examine the link between smell and obesity. The study findings suggest strong evidence for the association between olfaction and obesity, and that "bariatric surgery (particularly the sleeve gastrectomy) is effective in reversing olfactory decline associated with obesity."
