In this cross-sectional study, the authors examined the links between physical activity in different contexts (sports club, gym, exercise independently and other organised physical activities) and symptoms of depression in adolescents. The study found that the link between physical activity and symptoms of depression depends on context, with participation in a sports club being associated with significantly lower odds of depression. The authors discuss the implications of the findings.
