As well as promoting health, vegetables provide energy, help reduce hunger and support children's growth and development. In spite of our production of diverse nutrients and foods, New Zealanders generally are not abiding by the three or more vegetables a day guideline, with only one in two children eating three or more servings of vegetables a day.
