Built Environment and Active Transport to School (BEATS) Study
posted by Research Admin 1 on 29 January 2019
The Otago University BEATS Study investigates transport to school habits, the neighbourhood environment and physical activity of high school students living in the Otago region. The study involves surveys and focus groups with students and parents, and an interview with a school principal.
The researchers are currently recruiting Otago secondary schools for participating in two extensions of the original BEATS Study:
- The BEATS Rural Study (2018/2019) and
- The BEATS-2 Study (2019/2020).
They are also recruiting for Maori and Pacific perspectives on transport to school.
