This cross-sectional study compares the outcomes on elderly people with coronary artery disease (CAD) vs those without, after participating in a community-based maintenance programme. The positive impact on physical activity levels and functionality demonstrated the favourable effects long-term participation could have on those with CAD, whose quality of life was comparable to non-CAD participants, as a result.
