Weight gain in early years and subsequent body mass index trajectories across birth weight groups: a prospective longitudinal study

This research plots the BMI trajectory of babies that experienced rapid weight gain, compared with those who did not, and analyses the results against birth weight. They found that, for babies with satisfactory weight at birth, higher BMI through childhood to adolescence was directly associated with early rapid weight gain.
