Welcome to this Obesity and COVID-19 Special Report
As this pandemic evolves rapidly, we have produced a special report to summarise what is currently reported in the literature on Obesity and COVID-19.
The report is also dynamic or living as we have also provided some helpful links where you can access the latest COVID-19 and Obesity resources from international organisations.
The world first became aware of a new coronavirus originating in Wuhan, China in December 2019.
On March 11 2020, the WHO declared a global pandemic, and many countries around the world, including New Zealand, went into lockdown in attempts to prevent the spread of the disease and to protect the most vulnerable patient populations from COVID-19-associated morbidity and mortality.
This Research Review Special Issue provides a snap-shot of the current situation in NZ at the time of writing, in the face of a rapidly changing situation, with links included to allow readers to access the most up-to-date national and international information.
