The Pacific Monitoring Alliance for Non-Communicable Diseases (NCD) was developed to monitor the Pacific NCD Roadmap, and this paper reports on the first status assessment for all Pacific Island Countries and Territories (PICTs). It finds that the PICTs are at different stages in NCD policy and legislation. Some policy and legislation is widely spread in the PICTs, e.g. physical education in schools, while others are less so, such as controlling the marketing of foods and drinks to children.
