Perspective: Proposed Harmonized Nutrient Reference Values for Populations

This review seeks to determine how to harmonise the two key nutrient intake reference values currently used inconsistently across countries when creating guidelines for nutrient intakes for their populations' health. While the researchers highlight the need for international experts to verify their harmonisation methods, using a global reference for promoting average requirements and the tolerable upper level of intakes will ultimately be able to be applied in any regional context.
