Prevalence of Product Claims and Marketing Buzzwords Found on Health Food Snack Products Does Not Relate to Nutrient Profile

This study explored the labelling of 'health foods' and claims made to influence purchase and compared these with regular items, in terms of price and health star ratings. The researchers conclude that false claims and higher pricing of such 'health foods' warrant a revision of the labelling regulations and an increase in consumer awareness.
